I worked on my project over the weekend, and it went great! People have been donating money to WAIF and we have raised almost 150 dollars. I am just 50 dollars away from making my goal of 200 dollars, my advanced goal is 350.
I might not have a dog for display, on showcase day :(. We will see though.
There are only four more weeks (so basically a month) until showday!
I have got my interview done from my mentor, there were eight questions, they weren't hard to answer, they were fairly easy.
Thats all I have at this point, so i will be writing back two or three more times.
Until then...

Relflection 5&6
I'm doing reflection 5 and 6 together because, i have been gone for two weeks in Pheonix, AR!
I did do some work in Arizona, and then when i got back i did a lot of work over Spring break!
My trip was really fun and really boring all at the same time... I also went to MEXICO, and let me tell you, it was really sad.. i saw stray dogs (not so many cats) in Mexico, and it was very horrible i saw dogs being kicked and hit... but some of the dogs i saw were treached very nice and kind.
I worked with my mentor Amy Lynds during my spring break (Monday-Thursday) and it was a lot of fun and a lot of work to. We have raised over 60 dollars in the last couple of months, but we are still raising money until May. I also donated another 60 dollars to the donation so that puts the donation rate up to 120 dollars to saving those dogs and cats. At the "Four Paws Only" pet salon, in one week, just one, we did over 20+ dogs, and 3+ cats... so very few cats and lots of dogs.
Well, thats it for now, but I'm almost to my goal of 200 dollars!

Reflection #4
So, not much has really happened on my project. I had to give away my dog after a couple days, because we just couldn't handle her, she was way to wild. But we gave her to a great home, and I'm pretty sure she's happy.
I'm at least half way done with this project, I have got a lot of money donated to WAIF! (i don't know exactly how much). I have been working at Four Paws Only grooming salon, and as always, learning more and more about grooming dogs and cats.
I plan on trying to go to another dog show, I will not be her, from March 23 through the 27, so for one week. I will be working on some of my project on my trip, I will be collecting information on abandoned, abused, and nuglected animals, and Tiawana, Mexico will be a great place to try and study there, (but it might be impossible).
Anyway, i will be writing later to catch you up on my trip and what I saw!

She will be my showcase display, she will be brought out for most of the time, but like I said in Reflection 2 or 1 ( i honostly don't remember).
Well thats about it for now.

Long Form Perposal
I'm doing my project on raising money for WAIF, and grooming dogs. I hop to raise around over 200 to 300 dollars, during this project. All this money goes to help rescuing neglected, abandoned and abused animals.
What I hope to learn:
I hope to learn more about dog grooming, since well I've been doing it since i was about 11. So I hope to learn more and more about how to actually groom a dog on my own. I also hope to learn more about being more mature and responsible.
My reasons for doing this project:
The reasons why I'm doing this subject my project, is because I want to help these poor animals, and save them so they can be in a more respectful, proper, loving home. I want them to be saved, safe, and secure and not afraid to be around people.
Why I have a passion:
Why I have a passion for this subject, is the animals. I love animals, there so nice and sweet once you get to know them.
Another reason why I have a passion is because I love to groom dogs and cats. I do almost every Friday, most of the people put money in the bucket, right now we have raised about (well i really don't know at this point)
Why I am interested:
I am interested in grooming dogs and raising money for WAIF is because I want to learn more about animals, plus i want to help save them as well... I think that these poor little creatures deserve a lot more than just beating to the bone!
What will I have on showcase day:
I will have a big poster board full of info and pictures of dog shows, there will be fliers fro people to grab or look at, for the main showcase I will have my new Rotty, for show of course.
Also, what will be displayed on showcase day is the tools my mentor Amy and I use to groom the cats and dogs.
What my project will look like:
Well my project will look pretty simple actually. My poster board will be up, with pictures and info on abandoned, abused, and negleced animals. Also some info on WAIF. My dog will most of the time be pretty much the kennel. I will only take him out for a little bit, but not for the whole show. I will have props put (grooming tools), and a few fliers on these poor animals.
Challeneges I might be facing:
Some of the challeneges i might be facing are getting the dog to stay quite and not to bark at everyone, and scare them. Also another one is just getting everything in order.
My Plan B:
My plan b would be probably cooking if this project doesn't work. I would probably just cook vietnamese foods.
Who I would go to if i got stuck:
The people i would go to would be my mentor Amy Lynds, my school mentor Ann Chambers, or Mr. Barrat.
Next Weekend:
*Try getting interview with Amy.
*Grooming some more dogs.
*Gone March 21-27*
April:
*Get supplies and rotty
*Getting Fliers/info
*Writing up what I'm going to say Showcase Day
May:
*Pictures of dog show.
*Info from dog show.
*Getting everything together
*Getting the last of the info.

Reflection #2
Okay, so I went to the dog show last saturday! Let me tell you it was bewond amazing... my mentors dogs well rottys, her female rotty took 2nd place in show, and then her male was doing obidience, and qalified. She went on sunday to and her female dog didnt as good as she did on saturday, her male dog did novice B in obiedience, and qaulified again, so now she only has to do it again, at a different show.
I saw so many different dogs there, there was about over 1,000 dogs. all different breeds!
So i took picz and will post them soon. There will be a dog on display on show day! It will be my very own rotty, its very young, but very sweet and harmless. i will update this in about a week or so, on where i am!

Reflectoin 1
will be updating this every couple of weeks.
Reflection:
March 5, 09- Right now in my eighth grade project, i have raised about 25-30 dollars for WAIF animal shelter. I am also donating food, and dog and cat supplies to WAIF. Maybe you guys can help me by donating food or any supplies such as (beds, blankets, used pillows, etc.) . All you have to do is take the stuff down to "Four Paws Only" pet salon, across the street from the old Bowling Ally in freeland, and ask for Amy.
Please help!
thank-you :D
